Main objectives of the group
The high incidence of patients with chronic diseases with compromised immune defenses, the high frequency of hospital admission and the widespread use of antibiotics are the main risk factors for the increased incidence of infection in residential setting.
The main objectives of our working group are as follows.
- Development of guidelines “Prevention and management of infections in residential facilities for the elderly people.
Survey on prevention and management of facilities for the elderly people – which includes the involvement of one ore more facilities in Central and Northern Italy.
